01 — NEW FEATURES:

Claude and Youdooh have something new 👀

Claude just opened a marketplace 🔗

On 23 September, Anthropic launched the Claude Marketplace. Anthropic says it holds more than 2,000 plugins and connectors, including Google, Microsoft, Notion and Salesforce. In plain terms, Claude can now work with the tools you currently use.

Here’s what that looks like in real life. On the drive to Tokoroa recently, I worked through my CRM backlog using just my voice. I asked Claude to find my oldest CRM task. It pulled the customer’s details from our business app, checked my emails and gave me the backstory. We talked through the next step. Then Claude drafted the email in my tone of voice and saved it to my Outlook drafts. By the time I arrived, I had 25 drafts waiting. I review each one before it goes out.

Every connection gives AI access to something ∴ start with one tool you trust, check what it can see and do, and check the results before you rely on them.

Plan digital billboard ads by chatting 🏙️

Kiwi platform Youdooh has added ScreenPlanr.ai. Describe your campaign, refine the plan through conversation, and ScreenPlanr builds a ready-to-book campaign across digital billboards and screens. You can then book it on the same platform. Handy if outdoor advertising has always felt too fiddly to try.

02 — AI TIP

Reverse-engineer your best work 🧠

Start with a piece of work that landed well. Give AI a great example and ask it to reverse-engineer the prompt behind it.

Prompt: Here's a project update our client loved. Work out what makes it effective, then write the prompt that would produce one like it.

Save that prompt and swap in new details next time. It suits reports, quotes, job ads and handover notes. Remove client names and sensitive details first.

03 — LOCAL NEWS

Prepare now for AI-powered cyber threats 🛡️

NZ's National Cyber Security Centre released its 2026 Cyber Threat Report on 24 September. It warns that by early 2027, criminals may be able to use AI capabilities that only the most advanced models offer today. The basics still matter most: multi-factor authentication, a phone call to confirm unusual payment requests, and regular software updates.

Funding reminder

The Government's AI Advisory Pilot, delivered through your local Regional Business Partner, offers up to 50% co-funding, capped at $15,000, and now runs to 30 June 2027. Not sure if you qualify? Ask your local Regional Business Partner.

04 — JUST FOR FUN

AI outside the office: NZ's cow-herding tech now uses AI to measure paddocks 🐮

You've probably heard of Halter. The Kiwi company's solar-powered collars guide cows with sound and vibration, so there's no need to keep moving fences. Halter says its technology can now measure paddocks daily in six-metre squares across an entire farm, with results available on your phone. The collars also learn each cow's behaviour and flag signs of illness or fertility that are easy to miss by eye. The machines spot the pattern. The farmer still decides what to do.
