Kia ora!
First of all - we know it’s been a long time between emails (sorry!) We’ve been flat out designing new training and presenting all over NZ. Our lovely newsletter was a bit neglected over this time - but onwards!
New Feature: Copilot + GPT5
Tip: ChatGPT and Data Sharing

But first - an invite!

INVITE
What’s New in AI? - Sep 19th @ 12-1pm
Jamie and I have been squirrelling away to create the best, practical and fun-est (?), one-hour AI update you can imagine.
Over the past two months, 150 people attended the first “What’s New in AI?” - where we shared new tips, tools and features from the world of AI.
The feedback has been great - and so we’re excited to invite you to the second one.
This training is delivered online, and covers:
The most relevant AI updates that have arrived in the past three months;
Why you should care about these;
How to use them well.
It’s fun, practical and a great way to keep developing your AI skills.
When: Fri, 19th Sep at 12-1pm
Where: Online
Price: $75 (as a Swift subscriber, get 50% off the normal ticket price of $150)

01 – NEW FEATURE
Copilot with the Power of ChatGPT?
Until now, those in Microsoft organisations have faced a difficult choice.
Do they use Copilot as their primary AI tool - and put up with its weaker responses?
Or do they use ChatGPT - but limit their use due to the security risks it presents?
Thankfully, this trade-off has been reduced as Microsoft have incorporated GPT-5 ( OpenAI’s latest-and-greatest AI system) into Copilot!
This means you now can have the power of GPT-5, with the data security of Microsoft.
To try this out, simply head to Copilot, and click “Try GPT-5”:

We’re still playing around with this feature, but are loving the ability to use GPT-5 within the Microsoft ecosystem.
02 – SECURITY TIP
🔒 A Simple Setting to Keep Your ChatGPT Use Safer
When we run AI workshops, one of the biggest surprises is this:
Anything you type or upload into ChatGPT may be stored and used to improve the system (unless you change your settings).
That means if you accidentally paste in sensitive or confidential details, they could be kept on OpenAI’s servers for review, even if no one else can access them.
The good news: You can switch this off in less than a minute:
Open Settings
Go to Data Controls
Turn off “Improve the model for everyone”
This won’t affect your ability to use ChatGPT — it just means your chats won’t be used for training.
Tip: Always treat ChatGPT like any other cloud service: avoid sharing private or regulated information unless your organisation’s policy says it’s safe.
P.S. If you use Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, or Anthropic’s Claude, this doesn’t apply — they explicitly state your prompts are not used to train their models.
03 – PROMPT IDEA
Get a Business Analyst to work for you 👔
A Business Analyst is someone who can work on your business, and help you identify new revenue ideas, new value opportunities and new cost-saving measures that you might be blind to.
We’ve created a great prompt framework to help bring the power of a Business Analyst into your organisation. Try this out - and build on what it brings you.
Prompt:
Role - You are a business analyst who specialises in helping organisations understand their economic moat.
Task - Audit my business [ORG DESCRIPTION HERE] to assess the strength of its economic moat. Analyse my business against the four primary types of economic moats. Provide a score of 1-5 for each and a suggestion for how to widen that moat.
1. Intangible Assets: (Brand, IP)
2. Switching Costs: (How hard is it for customers to leave?)
3. Network Effects: (Does the service get better with more users?)
4. Cost Advantages: (Can I operate cheaper than rivals?)
Provide an overall summary of my business's long-term defensibility.
We’d love to hear how this works out - so please let us know if this is helpful.
04 – AI TIP
Bring GPTs into the main conversation 🤓
If you remember - GPTs are like mini-apps within the ChatGPT ecosystem. If you’re using the free-version, you can use GPTs that others have created. If you’re using ChatGPT Pro, you can even build your own GPTs!
However, a lot of people don’t know that they can bring GPTs into the main chat window, to offer their perspective.
How?
Open the GPT you want to use (find these under GPTs)
Type “Hi!” into the GPT window (start a chat with it)
Return to your main conversation, and then use the @ symbol to bring it in.
Takeaway: Use GPTs as on-demand experts, within your main conversation window.
05 – FOR FUN
Introducing Google Nano Banana 🍌
Bizarre name, amazing system.
Last week, Google introduced a new version of their AI image generation tool.
Officially it’s called Gemini 2.5 Flash Image, however it’s more commonly known by its code name, Nano Banana.
Anyway, here at Mosaic it takes a lot to blow our socks off when it comes to AI, but this absolutely did that.
A few fun examples below:

Try it out for free at https://gemini.google.com/app (just requires logging in with any Google account)
That’s it for this issue!
Let us know which tip you’ll try first or share your own AI “aha!” moment.
We’d love to hear your feedback and stories – just hit reply.
