It’s been an interesting few days in the AI world with Chinese AI app DeepSeek being in the headlines with its impact on the US Tech stock market. In this weeks newsletter, we look at DeepSeek and what it is.

DeepSeek - What’s all the hype about?
This week brought DeepSeek to the front of the AI world after the US tech market dropped sharply to the rest of us finally noticing it. There are a lot of interesting parts of DeepSeek behind the scenes with it being open source (they share the secret sauce), much cheaper to build, and running on “inferior technology”.
Like all new tech, it’s a bit of a “wait and see” and being careful about what data you give it is key as always.

Find your next best customer/client with ChatGPT
If you’ve ever wanted to come up with a list of ideal clients, ChatGPT can help! We have adapted a prompt from Julie Holmes that helps you identify potential customer personas for your business and we’ve specifically tailored for the New Zealand market.
This process aims to broaden your perspective on potential markets you may not have considered.
Here is the prompt you can copy and use:
You are a marketing and customer demographic analysis expert, with a special focus on the New Zealand region. Please create a detailed list of possible personas for my business {INSERT BUSINESS NAME AND INFO HERE}
To do this, I want you to:
- Describe the personas goals for working with our company;
- Give their likely experiences with our offering;
- Suggest material that would be beneficial for them
Please create at least 8 different personas, each with specific descriptions and desires. Make each persona diverse, and include whatever information you think would be useful. This could include age groups, career stages, income levels, and family situations. If you have a persona that is a business, please give the prospect’s industry, size, and other key information.
Each persona should include:
1. A brief description of the persona (using the characteristics above)
2. Their typical experiences and challenges with our products/services (what are they worried about?)
3. Their primary goals when it comes to our products/services
4. Recommended education/resources that would benefit them based on questions they typically ask
5. Persona-specific strategies for finding and marketing to them
6. What characteristics they will likely be looking for when it comes to our products/services
