Stunning AI video from Google's new tool

Plus: a reflection on our own AI usage

Kia ora!

This week we’re zeroing in on 5 quick, non-technical AI wins for Kiwi leaders.

  1. New Feature: Google Veo 3: truly stunning text-to-video

  2. Tip: ChatGPT Image Library

  3. Tip: Polish sensitive emails with AI

  4. Tip: Translate tech jargon into plain English

  5. Mosaic Reflection: “Speaking is so much easier than typing”

Let’s dive in…

01 – NEW FEATURE

Google Veo 3: truly stunning text-to-video 🤩

Type “drone shot, sunrise over Queenstown” and Google’s new Veo 3 video generator returns crisp, stable footage—complete with ambient sound and smooth camera moves.

Google the tool Flow and we’re not exaggerating when we say it creates studio-quality content.. all from typed text.

And with a feature they call ingredients, they let you upload a photo, object or setting and have it included in the video. This lets you have continuity between each shot.

To get a sense of how good it is, check out Flow TV.

Every 10 seconds this webpage switches to a new random video generated by the community.

Bonus: click “Show Prompt” at the bottom of the screen to see what was typed to generate any video.

Or for some fun other examples created with this tool, check out “Impossible Challenge" on YouTube.

Takeaway: Veo 3 puts true film-making within the grasp of everyone. For $34/mo anyone can access this incredible tool (free first month). Requires a Google AI Pro subscription.

02 – CHATGPT TIP

Never lose an AI-generated image again 📸

ChatGPT now saves every image you create in a handy image library.

Whether you had the AI design a logo concept or generate a product mockup, you can revisit all those visuals in one place instead of scrolling through old chats.

Takeaway: Your AI art and design experiments are organised for reuse – a small quality-of-life improvement for creative projects.

03 – PROMPTING IDEA

Polish sensitive emails with AI 💅

In our workshops we mention this prompting idea, but it gets so many oohs and aahs, it’s worth repeating here.

For those tricky communications (angry customer, delicate partner negotiation), ChatGPT can rewrite your draft in a calmer, clearer tone.

Say you draft a heated response to a supplier issue – you can prompt the AI to “make this polite and solution-focused.”

Takeaway: Your AI co-writer can turn an emotional email into a professional one, maintaining goodwill and clarity.

04 – PROMPTING IDEA

Translate tech jargon into plain English 🤓

If someone throws around terms like “vector database” or “zero-shot learning,” just ask ChatGPT to explain it in simple terms.

It’s great for breaking down complex concepts: e.g. “Explain like I’m not an engineer: what does ‘API integration’ mean for our business?”

The AI will give you an easy-to-understand answer without the waffle.

Takeaway: Use AI as your on-call tutor to demystify acronyms and tech talk, so you can make informed decisions without a PhD.

05 – MOSAIC REFLECTION

Speaking is so much easier than typing 💬

In this new section, we share a specific AI lesson or epiphany one of the Mosaic Swift team have had in the past week.

This week, Jamie reflects on his use of ChatGPT’s “Dictate” feature:

For a long time, ChatGPT (and other major AI tools) have had an excellent voice mode.

This lets you speak at normal speed, and have the AI tool accurately convert what you say into text.

While looking through my past chats, it occurred to me that well over 50% of my prompting is now done with my voice.

I find that it lends itself to adding lots of detail, which improves response quality.

Example: yesterday, I spoke for almost 10 minutes to create a mega prompt that ended up saving a couple of hours of work.

To Dictate, simply click on the little microphone in the bottom right of the screen:

Bonus: try ‘voice mode’ for a two way-chat.

That’s it for this week! Have a great long weekend everyone!
