01 — PROMPTING FRAMEWORK

ChatGPT the Futurist 🔮

As a business or organisation leader, anticipating future changes is crucial.

But as the old saying goes, “you don’t know what you don’t know”.

With the right prompt, though, ChatGPT can give useful ideas about where your industry might be heading - and what to do about these trends.

Example:

Prompt:
I'm based in New Zealand and my industry is {Your Industry}. I want you to outline trends that will likely affect my industry in 2025.

For each trend, provide an overview and specific, practical recommendations to capitalise on, or address, the trend.

Didn’t get the response you wanted? Ask yourself why: Was it too generic, vague, clichéd, or obvious? Be specific in your feedback to ChatGPT to get better results.

02 — QUICK TIP

Use the @ Symbol to Quickly Access GPTs ⚡

Two weeks ago, we explained “GPTs” - the directory of specialty Apps that live within ChatGPT (if you missed this, check it out here)

If you find yourself using GPTs regularly, there’s a shortcut you’ll want to know.

Start a new chat by typing the @ symbol.

This will pop up a list of GPTs that you have pinned or recently used:

P.S. Want to create a Custom GPT to automate boring manual tasks in your business?

We have a 1-hour Express workshop coming up on Monday, Dec 10th.

This will be fun, practical, and requires zero programming. Learn more

03 — PROMPTING FRAMEWORK

Write Comprehensive Checklists with AI ☑️

A famous Harvard Study from 2013 found that simply using checklists reduces missed steps in life-saving surgery by 74%.

While the stakes might not be quite as high in your mahi, it’s a well-known fact that checklists are a simple and effective way to ensure nothing gets left out.

A comprehensive checklist can help with:

  • Onboarding a new staff member

  • Launching a new product

  • Conducting market research

  • Creating a Health & Safety plan

  • Preparing for an event

  • And almost any other meaty task at work!

ChatGPT is excellent at providing feedback on your draft checklists or generating entirely new ones.

Example:

Prompt:
Create a detailed checklist for launching an e-commerce site, covering tasks like selecting a platform, setting up payment gateways, writing product descriptions, etc.
04 — BOOK SUMMARY

Top Takeaways from James Clear’s “Atomic Habits” 👀

Have a book you want to understand? ChatGPT is excellent at providing a high-level summary. This can help you digest the content quickly - or let you decide whether it’s worth reading the full book.
